About Glacier National Park


Located in northern Montana, Glacier National Park sits near the Canadian border, with Waterton Lakes National Park just across the boundary. Together, these two parks form Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, the world’s first international peace park.


The park is open year-round, but the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road, the main scenic route through the park, is accessible only during the summer months, typically from late June or early July through mid-October.

Vehicle Reservation


In 2025, vehicle reservations are required for specific areas of the park, including Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork.


Reservation Dates:


Going-to-the-Sun Road (West Entrance): June 13 to September 28, 7 am to 3 pm


North Fork: June 13 to September 28, 7 am to 3 pm.


However, entry through the East Entrance and Two Medicine does not require reservations during these times.
